Ideal for those seeking a nutritious, quick, and satisfying meal.

  • Total Time: 25 mins
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) beef sirloin or flank steak, sliced thinly
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional but recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 cup bell peppers, sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or sesame oil for stir-frying
  • Optional garnishes: sesame seeds, chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Begin by slicing the beef thinly against the grain. Marinate the beef in a mixture of soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil for at least 15 minutes.
  2. While the beef marinates, chop the vegetables into bite-sized pieces. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable or sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the beef slices and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil if needed. Toss in the garlic and ginger, cooking for 30 seconds. Add the vegetables and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  5. Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Pour in the remaining sauce and toss everything together. Cook for another 2 minutes to meld flavors. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

  • Ensure vegetables are cut uniformly for even cooking.
  • You can substitute beef with chicken or tofu for variety.
  • Adjust soy sauce and oyster sauce amounts to taste for a milder or saltier flavor.
