Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) beef sirloin or flank steak, sliced thinly
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional but recommended)
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 cup bell peppers, sliced
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or sesame oil for stir-frying
- Optional garnishes: sesame seeds, chopped green onions
Instructions
- Begin by slicing the beef thinly against the grain. Marinate the beef in a mixture of soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil for at least 15 minutes.
- While the beef marinates, chop the vegetables into bite-sized pieces. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable or sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the beef slices and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil if needed. Toss in the garlic and ginger, cooking for 30 seconds. Add the vegetables and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Pour in the remaining sauce and toss everything together. Cook for another 2 minutes to meld flavors. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.
Notes
- Ensure vegetables are cut uniformly for even cooking.
- You can substitute beef with chicken or tofu for variety.
- Adjust soy sauce and oyster sauce amounts to taste for a milder or saltier flavor.
