An easy and delicious baked chicken parmesan made with breaded chicken breasts topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese, baked to perfection.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup Italian bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a shallow bowl, whisk eggs. In another dish, combine bread crumbs, Parmesan, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dip chicken breasts into eggs, then coat with bread crumb mixture.
  4. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat and brown chicken for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  5. Transfer chicken to a baking dish, top with marinara sauce, and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
