Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 8 ounces lasagna noodles, broken
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, cook ground beef or sausage until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add cooked meat, marinara sauce, beef broth, garlic, and Italian seasoning to the crockpot.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  4. During the last 30 minutes, add broken lasagna noodles to the crockpot.
  5. Once cooked, stir in ricotta cheese and half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
  6. Serve hot, topped with remaining mozzarella, Parmesan, and chopped basil.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey or veggie crumbles for the beef.
  • For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes.
  • Use gluten-free noodles to make it gluten-free.
