Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450 g) sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well and marinate for 10 minutes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add remaining oil. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Add sliced onions and bell peppers. Stir-fry until vegetables are tender-crisp, about 3-4 minutes.
- Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Sprinkle with black pepper and stir to combine. Cook for another 1-2 minutes to heat through.
- Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles for a complete Chinese stir-fry meal.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of black pepper based on your spice preference.
- For extra flavor, add sliced green onions or a drizzle of sesame oil before serving.
