  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 4 cups beef or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup small pasta (e.g., broken lasagna noodles)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, cook ground beef or sausage until browned; drain excess fat.
  2. Add cooked meat, marinara sauce, broth, onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the crockpot.
  3. Stir well and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  4. About 15 minutes before serving, add pasta and cook until tender.
  5. Stir in half of the mozzarella cheese and let it melt.
