- 14 oz (400g) smoked sausage, sliced
- 12 oz (340g) pasta (penne or fusilli)
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
- 1 cup (120g) shredded Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp cajun seasoning
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and sliced peppers; sauté until peppers are tender, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in cajun seasoning, then add pasta, heavy cream, and 3 cups water. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until pasta is cooked and sauce thickens, about 12 minutes.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese, season with salt and pepper, and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- You can substitute sausage with chicken or make it vegetarian with tofu.
- Adjust cajun seasoning for more or less spice according to taste.
- For a creamier sauce, add extra Parmesan or a splash of cream at the end.
