  • 14 oz (400g) smoked sausage, sliced
  • 12 oz (340g) pasta (penne or fusilli)
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
  • 1 cup (120g) shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp cajun seasoning
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add minced garlic and sliced peppers; sauté until peppers are tender, about 3 minutes.
  3. Stir in cajun seasoning, then add pasta, heavy cream, and 3 cups water. Bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until pasta is cooked and sauce thickens, about 12 minutes.
  5. Stir in Parmesan cheese, season with salt and pepper, and cook for another 2 minutes.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • You can substitute sausage with chicken or make it vegetarian with tofu.
  • Adjust cajun seasoning for more or less spice according to taste.
