Ingredients
Scale
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced into strips
- 8 oz (about 225g) pasta (penne or linguine works great)
- 3 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 1/2 tsp salt, to taste
- Optional: red pepper flakes for extra heat
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients and prep your vegetables by slicing the bell peppers and mincing the garlic. Cook the pasta in boiling salted water until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced chicken breasts and season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add remaining olive oil. Sauté the minced garlic and sliced bell peppers for 3-4 minutes until tender yet crisp. For a spicy kick, sprinkle red pepper flakes if desired.
- Reduce heat to low, then add honey and black pepper to the skillet. Stir well to combine and cook for 1-2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Adjust seasoning by adding more honey for sweetness or more pepper for spice.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet with the sauce and vegetables. Toss in the cooked pasta, ensuring all ingredients are coated evenly with the zesty honey pepper sauce. Cook for an additional minute to heat through.
Notes
- For an extra layer of flavor, add a splash of pasta water or grated Parmesan cheese.
- High-quality honey enhances sweetness, while freshly ground black pepper adds aroma.
- For a creamier dish, stir in Greek yogurt or cream.
