Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb smoked sausage or sausage links, sliced
- 4 large potatoes, diced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup ranch dressing or ranch seasoning mix
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Start by washing and dicing the potatoes into small, even pieces. Slice the smoked sausage into bite-sized pieces. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the potatoes and cook for 8-10 minutes until slightly golden and tender. Add sausage slices and cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- In a bowl, mix ranch dressing, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Transfer cooked potatoes and sausage into a greased baking dish. Pour ranch mixture over evenly and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden. Broil for an extra 2-3 minutes for a crispy top if desired.
Notes
- Use cooked or precooked sausage for quicker preparation.
- For a healthier version, substitute turkey sausage or plant-based sausage.
- Customize with different cheese varieties like Monterey Jack or pepper jack.
- Can be assembled a day ahead and refrigerated before baking.
