Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey for a leaner option)
- 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional but adds depth)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or olive oil
- Red pepper flakes for a spicy kick (optional)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil. Sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add the broccoli and stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until tender but still crisp.
- Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the broccoli. Pour the honey garlic sauce over and stir well to coat everything. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through and the sauce slightly thickens.
Notes
- Adjust the red pepper flakes according to your spice preference.
- Ensure the broccoli is cooked to your desired tenderness, but avoid overcooking to preserve crunch.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a different flavor profile.
