- 1.5 lbs beef sirloin or flank steak, sliced thin
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional for thickening)
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Place sliced beef into the slow cooker.
- Add sliced bell peppers, onions, and garlic over the beef.
- Mix soy sauce, beef broth, oyster sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper in a bowl; pour over the ingredients in the crock pot.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours until beef is tender.
- If desired, mix cornstarch with a little water and stir into the slow cooker; cook on high for an additional 15 minutes to thicken the sauce.
- Serve hot over rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds or fresh herbs.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the beef with soy sauce, garlic, and a touch of honey for 30 minutes before cooking.
- You can substitute chicken or pork for beef in this recipe.
- Thicken the sauce with cornstarch at the end for a glossy finish.
