- 2 lbs chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp garam masala
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- Salt to taste
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1-inch piece ginger, grated
- 1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate chicken with yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, turmeric, cumin, and salt. Let sit for 15 minutes.
- Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions, garlic, and ginger; sauté until fragrant.
- Add marinated chicken and cook until browned.
- Pour in tomato sauce, simmer for 10 minutes to cook through.
- Stir in heavy cream, cook for another 5 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan.
Notes
- Adjust spice levels by increasing or decreasing garam masala and chili powder.
- Use full-fat yogurt and cream for a richer sauce.
