Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish
- Optional: cherry tomatoes, for added color and flavor
Instructions
- Start by seasoning your chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken breasts and sear for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the balsamic vinegar and honey, stirring constantly. Simmer until the mixture reduces by half and becomes thick and syrupy.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning the glaze over the top, and let simmer for a few more minutes until heated through and coated with the glaze.
- Garnish with chopped basil or parsley before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to use chicken thighs for extra juiciness and flavor, adjusting cooking time accordingly.
- Maple syrup or agave nectar can substitute honey for a vegan or sugar-free option.
- This dish comes together in approximately 30 minutes, making it perfect for weeknights.
