- 1 pound ground beef or turkey
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 package (32 oz) frozen Tater Tots
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent.
- Add ground beef or turkey; cook until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic. Drain excess fat and transfer to a bowl.
- Stir in cream of mushroom or chicken soup and sour cream until well combined. Mix in half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread the meat mixture evenly in a greased baking dish.
- Layer the frozen Tater Tots on top, covering all the meat. Sprinkle remaining cheese and paprika over Tater Tots.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until Tater Tots are crispy and golden. Let cool slightly before serving.
