Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef or turkey
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups frozen Tater Tots
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Optional: chopped green onions or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef or turkey over medium heat until browned. Add diced onions and minced garlic, cooking until softened. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and simmer on low for a few minutes to blend the flavors.
- Transfer the meat mixture into a greased baking dish. Spread an even layer of frozen Tater Tots on top and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes, until Tater Tots are crispy and golden and cheese is bubbly. Optional: broil for 2-3 minutes for extra crispiness.
Notes
- For added flavor, top with chopped green onions or parsley before serving.
- You can substitute ground chicken or turkey for beef or use plant-based proteins for a vegetarian version.
- To make it even healthier, incorporate vegetables like spinach or bell peppers into the meat sauce.
