- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 32 ounces beef or chicken broth
- 28 ounces crushed tomatoes
- 8 ounces lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 1 teaspoons dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef or sausage until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add diced onion and minced garlic to the meat, cooking until fragrant and translucent.
- Transfer the cooked meat mixture into the crockpot and pour in the broth and crushed tomatoes.
- Stir in dried basil, oregano, and red pepper flakes.
- Add broken lasagna noodles to the crockpot and stir well.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until noodles are tender.
- During the last 15 minutes, sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan on top, allowing cheese to melt.
- Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving hot.
