Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
- 4 large potatoes, diced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup ranch dressing
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with a little olive oil.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced potatoes, season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook until golden brown and tender, about 10-15 minutes. Set aside.
- In the same skillet, cook sliced smoked sausage for 5-7 minutes until browned. Remove from heat.
- Combine ranch dressing, sour cream, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese in a mixing bowl. Mix well to create a creamy sauce.
- Layer the cooked potatoes and sausage slices in the prepared baking dish. Pour the ranch cheese mixture over the top and sprinkle with remaining cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden. Broil for an extra 2-3 minutes if desired for a crispy top.
Notes
- Use cooked or raw sausage based on preference; pre-cooked sausage is convenient.
- For added flavor, garnish with chopped fresh parsley or scallions before serving.
- This dish can be made gluten-free by choosing gluten-free ranch dressing and sausages free of gluten additives.
