Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Add milk, egg, and vanilla, and whisk until smooth.
- Fold in diced apples until evenly coated.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet over medium heat.
- Spoon batter into the hot oil, forming small bites, and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with caramel before serving.
