- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup cinnamon sugar (for coating)
- 1/4 cup melted chocolate (optional, for drizzling)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Add flour all at once and stir vigorously until the mixture forms a dough and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
- Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. Mix in vanilla extract.
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip and pipe small bite-sized portions onto parchment paper.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place the piped dough into the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from air fryer, toss in cinnamon sugar until coated evenly.
- Drizzle with melted chocolate if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- You can store leftover churro bites in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
- Reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes until crispy.
- Alter the cinnamon sugar for a different flavor twist, such as adding nutmeg or cardamom.
