A rich and indulgent breakfast bake made with flaky croissants layered in a creamy custard, infused with chocolate, baked to golden perfection and topped with powdered sugar.

Ingredients

  • 4 large croissants, sliced
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chunks
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. Arrange the croissant slices evenly in the dish.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together milk, cream, eggs, sugar, and vanilla until well combined.
  4. Pour the custard mixture over the croissants, pressing lightly to soak.
  5. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes until puffed and golden.
  7. Allow to cool slightly, dust with powdered sugar, and serve warm.
