- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, olive oil, minced garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
- Place chicken breasts in a baking dish and pour the balsamic mixture over them, ensuring they are well coated.
- Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and juices run clear.
- Remove from oven, sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over each chicken breast.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, marinate the chicken in balsamic mixture for 30 minutes before baking.
- You can also use any type of cheese such as provolone or Parmesan.
- Serve with side salads or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
