- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped apples (peeled or unpeeled)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Caramel sauce and powdered sugar for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix well.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in chopped apples.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the surface.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool, then drizzle with caramel sauce and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute fresh pears or similar fruit for apples.
- For extra cinnamon flavor, add a pinch to the batter.
- Serve with vanilla ice cream for an indulgent treat.
