Ingredients
Scale
- One 16 oz (450g) package of refrigerated croissants
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk or heavy cream
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional: Powdered sugar for dusting
- Fresh fruit or whipped cream for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Tear the croissants into bite-sized pieces and spread them evenly in a greased baking dish, creating a layer of buttery goodness. Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the croissants.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk or heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour the custard mixture evenly over the croissants and chocolate in the baking dish. Press down gently to ensure the custard soaks into all the layers.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set. Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, sprinkle crushed nuts or cinnamon on top before baking.
- This bake is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- Reheat leftovers in the microwave or oven for best results.
