Ingredients
Scale
- 3 large apples (Granny Smith or Fuji work great)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup bread crumbs or Panko
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Optional: powdered sugar or caramel sauce for garnish
Instructions
- Wash and core the apples, then cut them into evenly-sized fry-shaped strips. Keep pieces uniform for even cooking.
- Set up three bowls: one with beaten eggs, one with flour, and one with a mixture of bread crumbs, sugar, and cinnamon.
- Dip each apple strip first into the flour, then into the egg, and finally coat with the cinnamon-sugar bread crumbs for a crunchy coating.
- Preheat your Ninja Air Fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place the coated apple strips in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the air fryer and sprinkle with powdered sugar or drizzle with caramel sauce if desired. Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
Notes
- Use firm apples to prevent mushiness during cooking.
- Ensure even coating for maximum crispiness.
- Adjust cooking time for preferred crispiness—add an extra minute if needed.
- For a dairy-free version, substitute eggs with a plant-based milk wash or omit the coating.
