- 8 oz (225 g) pasta (penne or spaghetti)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Cook pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In the same pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes to develop flavors.
- Reduce heat to low, stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, and cook until cheese melts and sauce thickens.
- Add cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve hot.
Notes
- You can add cooked chicken or shrimp for added protein.
- Use fresh basil for enhanced flavor.
- For a vegan version, substitute heavy cream with coconut cream and omit cheese.
