Ingredients
Scale
- 4 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips for extra texture
Instructions
- Create a creamy base by beating together the softened butter, sugar, and eggs until fluffy. Add mashed bananas and vanilla extract, blending until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add these dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading evenly.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve with butter or honey.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and sweetness.
- Do not overmix the batter to keep the bread tender and moist.
- Add nuts or chocolate chips for extra richness and texture.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
