Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil or butter
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Optional: powdered sugar or healthier sweeteners for dusting
- Cooking spray or coconut oil spray
Instructions
- Combine water, coconut oil, and honey in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and stir until well mixed.
- Remove from heat and add flour and vanilla extract. Mix vigorously until a smooth dough forms. Let cool slightly.
- Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip or shape small bites by hand. Lightly spray with cooking spray.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place bites in a single layer without overlapping.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes, shaking halfway through. Bites should be golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from air fryer and toss in cinnamon sugar or dust with powdered sugar. Serve warm with chocolate or fruit dips.
Notes
- For vegan version, substitute honey with maple syrup and use vegan butter or coconut oil.
- To reduce sweetness, skip the cinnamon sugar coating or use natural sweeteners like stevia.
- Use gluten-free flour for a gluten-free adaptation.
- Prepare the dough ahead and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.
